in ‘05/’06 I met a transfer to my school who introduced me to the world of vintage sneakers. Up until then, my main focus with shoes revolved around basketball & performance. He showed me his recently purchased deadstock Air Jordan Black Cement 3s from 2001 which I instantly fell in love with. This encounter led to my first pair of Air Jordan’s, which were a slightly worn pair of Black Infrared 6s from 2000.
Looking back now, I can’t believe how much this dude has influenced my life. Whether it be my personal style or the way I handle the ups & downs of life, I subconsciously took a lot of the things he told me & applied it to my life.
It’s amazing to see him doing well & seeing him recently brought back memories. He has no idea how much he has meant to me & the impact he has made on my life. One day, when the time is right, I will let him know and thank him for being a wonderful human being & friend.
It’s a beautiful world.
